One Direction breaks Metallica's ticket sales record

Popular British boy band One Direction has passed rock band Metallica's ticket sales record at the Sydney's Allphones Arena in Australia. One Direction has sold almost 82000 tickets to their 7 concerts at Sydney arena. On the other hand, Metallica had sold just less than 75000 tickets at the very same venue during their tour in the year 2010.

Each One Direction member was handed with a Gold Microphone as a prize and a plaque was kept in Sydney Olympic Park city district to mark this achievement.
